The Leicestershire Footpath Association is the oldest extant footpath preservation society in the country and our wish is to preserve the freedom of movement that we all enjoy so that Leicestershire's natural beauty can be experienced through the generations and through all walks of life.

NFWF 2026 Brochure

Each May there is a National Forest Walking Festival, for which walks are planned across the whole National Forest, the eastern end of which is in Leicestershire. The walks are of varying lengths, as can be seen from the brochure. Last year LFA contributed two walks to the programme, whereas you can see from this year's brochure that we are offering six to fit in with our normal weekly programme. One will be a Tuesday walk, there will be two each on Wednesday and Thursday and
