On a lovely September Saturday, 20 members and friends completed a nine mile walk just over the County border in Derbyshire. The National Trust have provided some permissive footpaths with a hardcore base so as to encourage the public to explore the grounds of the Abbey. A recently opened footpath, links Dimminsdale Nature Reserve but our group walked through the old Lime Kilns and joined the old railway line which took us through two tunnels. In the picture below you will view a particularly wet section of the return route to Calke where Bob (with his back to us) gave assistance to the group.
