Eleven members enjoyed exceptionally mild weather on Saturday 14th with a 7.5 mile walk from Kings Norton.  This walk led by Roy connected the villages of Little Stretton, Burton Overy, Carlton Curlieu and Illston on the Hill.  To our surprise we saw Santa and six silver reindeer in a garden as we passed through Carlton Curlieu.  Santa had lots of presents for the children of the village.

A feature of this walk were the many pasture fields and due to the dry Autumn most fields and tracks were easily negotiated. The bridleway near the Manor House at Carlton Curlieu has recently been fenced and the smell of creosote pervaded the air. Lunch was taken in Illston church yard and we passed by Illston Grange and was guided to Kings Norton by its splendid church built from the profits of the wool trade.
