Eleven Hundredth walk

On a recent Saturday walk from Stathern, I completed my eleven hundredth walk with the Leicestershire Footpath Association. On a perfect September day the walk started from Stathern church.

???????????????????????????????

Ten members left by Tofts Lane and walked along the Terrace Hills to Belvoir Castle car park.  We enjoyed some beautiful views across the Vale of Belvoir and could see much of the route lying ahead of us.  We took a coffee break among the trees.

Continuing our walk through three fields of clover and some grass fields we visited Barkestone le Vale (where the public house had recently closed).  Passing by the church and then reaching the Grantham canal our party arrived at Plungar where a well deserved rest was had at the village public house.  Arriving back at Stathern at 3.00pm we found our cars and started the long journey home.

A truly memorable walk.
