AGM Short Walk report

Short Walk from Woodhouse Eaves on 22nd February

Fourteen LFA members enjoyed a leisurely two and a half mile walk led by us, Tony and Val White. We walked along Beacon Road where the gardens were full of spring flowers and into the Beacon Plantation on the lower slopes of Beacon Hill. We were not alone as the sunny weather had brought out other walkers, some with children and dogs.

Everyone seemed to be enjoying the mud-free walk on paths through the trees, punctuated by sculptures carved from tree trunks. The highlight for most of us was the Labyrinth, a board walk cut through the rhododendron plantation at the lower car park – definitely a place to bring grandchildren – it brought out the child in most of us! It was good to meet and talk to members from the other walking days and to enjoy the lovely spring weather as we walked.
